Canvas painting and Skittles

Aunt Kadi had the coolest activity for the kids to do at Grandma's house one weekend in May. Canvas name painting. It was a huge hit with the kids, especially Emeri. This activity is where I learned how much Emeri loves art. She will paint, color, or draw any time of the day without fail.  The finished products of these turned out great. We have them hanging up in our house as we speak.
Our new found pet! Since we are about to have a fourth little one joining our family soon, I am in no hurry to get a dog. Austin would love it but I would be the one taking care of it while he was working. So, instead I told the kids that they could earn a fish. The boys did their chores and we headed to the pet store. It was quite the learning process for me. I had no idea about chlorine content and all that with the water to keep a fish. It was fun to learn though. So, after learning that we could only get a betta fish, I let the boys choose which one they wanted. On the way home we decided his name would be Skittles. It matches his purple complexion perfectly. We also have enjoyed getting some books from the library to teach us more about betta fish. They are actually quite interesting.

Isaac enjoyed helping set up the bowl. Emeri got a kick out of Skittles too. She still likes to play with the water in the bowl. Let's just hope it lasts. HAHA
